A Masterpiece of Stupidity is all about the importance of being there for someone else in this life. It's about overcoming abuse in all of its forms, as well as the silence surrounding it. It's about the truth that life is life everywhere, no matter the setting, and that it forces you to squeeze out a better you for those you love. It's unique, yet it's timeless to us all.

It's 2011, Johnson meets the newcomer, Jordan, over a friendly game of chess. They become fast friends, and soon, roommates. After a time, they meet up with Johnson's long-time compadres, Sapo and Indio, to have a welcoming party for Jordan. Johnson screws everything up by the end of the night and sets the next year's events on a collision course with madness and tragedy by giving Jordan crystal meth for the first time.

Over the next year, Jordan goes almost stark-raving mad as Johnson looks on his own drug-fueled, helpless, confused. Just not "getting it." Eventually, Jordan ends up getting jumped and beaten savagely. In ever more painful, lucid introspection, Johnson finally "gets it" and realizes how stupid he's been all along. Oddballs? Misfits? Yep. Sometimes, though, aren't those the kind of people that we learn our most powerful and poignant lessons from? If you have a heart and a sense of humor, then this book is definitely for you.
