How To Sell Your Book
BRONZE PACKAGE: $75 year - List your book on our website, in the Books By Inmates section. Have the book listed in our Inmates Shopper Bookstore, printed in every Inmate Shopper Annual issue. We will post your book on our Facebook page.
SILVER PACKAGE: $150 year - List your book on our website, in the Books By Inmates section. Have the book listed in our Inmates Shopper Bookstore, printed in every Inmate Shopper Annual issue. A semi-annual promotion of your book that includes text, photos, and a link to your book for sale will be placed on our Facebook page.
GOLD PACKAGE: $250 year - List your book on our website, in the Books By Inmates section. Have the book listed in our Inmates Shopper Bookstore, printed in every Inmate Shopper Annual issue. A quarterly annual promotion of your book that includes text, photos, and a link to your book for sale will be placed on our Facebook page. Get a profile for you and your book on Penacon.com for one year. Your book may also be chosen for a reader review and article written to appear in the Inmate Shopper.
CRITIQUING SERVICE: If you decide you want to send your manuscript to us for a review we offer a critiquing service. The purpose of a critique is not to criticize or discourage the author's confidence, but to offer constructive feedback. We are sensitive in our approach, but always honest (there's no point commissioning a book critique unless you want the truth). We make a point of telling authors what's good in their writing as well as where they can better develop their storylines. If interested, write and ask about our Book Critiquing Service. Books must be typed (on paper or digital) for critiquing services, hand-written are accepted but incurs an additional cost.
SUMMARY: Getting a book into print is a lot of hard work. It takes dedication and extreme attention to detail. Be prepared to spend a minimum of $600 - $1,200 to get your book ready to go to print. Several factors are involved that will determine the total cost. These include the size of your book, the number of pages, whether or not it's typed into a digital format, editing costs, and cover design costs. All books must be typed into a digital format to be considered ready for the publishing process.
We strongly recommend letting us do the typing for you. The reason is that even today's scanners, no matter how up-to-date the technology, misread a percentage of the characters causing major formatting errors. These errors are time-consuming and raise the costs of editing. We have learned by experience even the page numbers that are typed at the bottom of your typed pages can cause terrible problems when scanning a typed paper document into digital format for publishing.
